The Benelli 250 M37 was powerful, reliable and of high robustness, in addition to being a step ahead of the bikes of the competition, which lacked the technical solutions applied by the house of Pesaro.
The M37 had a rear suspension for pistons and shock absorbers of friction with manual adjustment, a novelty inherited from the model civil base 250 TN 1938, the first bike to incorporate this system. But the main difference compared to other bikes Italian was his propeller, distinctly sports (offered by 16 hp and more than 110 km/h). This four-stroke engine was tilted 12 ° to the vertical, and equipped with distribution by camshaft on head driven by a cascade of gears, which is something rare in the machines for the army. The engine had the valve springs to the air, type hairpin, and these were easily replaceable without the need of special tools, which helped the proper maintenance of the bike in the front.
